Here is an update. All of the Zooters are nearly finished. I should have pics of all the completed sailors in a week.

Bob,

I have just spent a most enjoyable time following the creation of this dio. I hope it will be at MFCA this spring. It is truly inspiring.
You are exactly right on with the "dixie cups". Every sailor tries to wear his hat his way. Usually rolled some way with the sides flaired, and all of your's just nail it, right down to the guy who wears his squared. Thanks for taking the time to do it right.

The suits, ahh the suits what style, what color, just way, way cool!

Thanks for the eye candy can't wait to see it done.

I had a lot of problems with the whites and what I settled on was Titanium White mixed with a hint of Vasari Brilliant Yellow Bright and for the shadows Paynes Grey mixed with Sepia. This gave a warm/cool contrast which seemed to eliminate the "dingy white" problem I was having. Thanks to Bill Merklein for the color mix tip.

I have to tell you all what a great weekend I had at SCAHMS. Zoot Suit won Best of Show to my utter and stupefied amazement.

There were so many good pieces at the show and seeing Bill Horan's latest FP War stuff in the flesh was a major treat. I know lots of poeple took pictures of the whole show so they should be forthcoming shortly.

Ludivico Carrano was present with some beautiful work in progress as well as finished work and Fabio Nunnari had brought a wonderful compliment of European pieces from various artists.
