Hi all,

Had started a new project and this one is a remake of one of the Zulu warrior ( in 54mm ) that I had sculpted with epoxy about 10 years ago. Here's are some image of the head and the basic body ( I think I will most likely to remodel the belly and remove the "six pack" with the next update ) and image of my previous Zulu model in epoxy.

BTW: had recently studied a scull a bit, and just noticed - I think on the lower jaw You have 7 front teeth (to canines), and it should be 6 ?

Pokrad,

:):ROFLMAO: That' a very productive comment, it shows I am the type can't even count my fingers:ROFLMAO::notworthy: Yes, you are right , it should be six. Thanks for spotting the mistake ( sometimes, it's the common sense stuff that will be easily overlooked ), will correct it with the next update.

That's why I tried to take up sculpting again as I hope to refresh some of the basic stuff that's has long been forgotten after leaving art school and serve as a reminder to my daily illustration works.

It looks really nice, it would be interesting to see it printed in scale and displayed with the "hand sculpted" one ;)

I had made this one in 120mm actually, so the resolution should allow more details, I guess. Bad day on Monday, my furnace and heater gone bad and had to be replaced right way or no heat no hot water. And my supposed saving for a 3D printer is being thrown out of the window in a brink of an eye :cry::cry:. So hopefully I can shelf out the amount soon.

Sounds familiar ;)
With me it's like this: I can accept jobs to pay for the new comp. licenses and printer, but in that case will have no time to learn 3D or sculpt in next 2 years :)

Yup, same things happening here, it's almost always like a circle game as I have been a freelancer all my life. Had bought Zbrush when it first came out, try it a few time and the learning curve is really steep ( wish I am the type of monkey that can push buttons ). then household bills swamp in every month, and the desire to learn it is just the last thing in the "must do" list in the past 8 years. Hats-off to the Zbrush guy that they don't charge a single dime for all the upgrades ( hope they also produce a 3D printer :)... and also with free upgrades ) or otherwise I can never have the gut, money and will to try it out again.

Looks like you did a really nice job translating your old sculpture to digital! Seeing them side by side would be great! Sorry to hear about the heater. Its always something isn't it. It is always been hard for artists to get ahead. Sucks having to wait years until prices drop on the tech stuff just so we can afford it.

Yeah the ZB guys are really nice! Their whole goal is to make digital sculpture a accessible and affordable to all artists.

Thanks Mark.

The water heater is basically no issue as the company will replace for free since it's a rental one. It's the furnace that cost me both arms and both legs and even my head to replace it. Damned, guess that's you gonna need to factor in if you are chaps like us living in the Great White North. I thought I am getting the 3D printer coming in next month, now it change to a grey metal furnace box sitting in my basement:wacky: Fate is still lenient to me though, had the things happen after I placed the 3D printer order, I can only see all red with my bank account.
