Avanpost 75mm

[Viking Bob]

French Light Infantry officer 1809.
Painted in acrylics and some inks and this is where I am at now.
Flesh colours used



I am very pleased with the face and how that's turned out.



And then the base,I like the finish this before the figure is painted, makes it easier to paint the scene.

Thank you Nigel, various you tube painting demos have used this method and it now my go to for paintings faces.

Thank you F troop, I wish the face was a 54mm but this is 75mm. The painting using the 3 colours was copied from a demo, I will see if I can fine the reference I used.

I'm a big fan of Avanpost 75s. Fabulous sculpting and practically flawless casting & fit. The only thing I don't like about them is the tiny little laser-cut wooden boxes that they cram them into.

I'm a big fan of Avanpost 75s. Fabulous sculpting and practically flawless casting & fit. The only think I don't like about them is the tiny little laser-cut wooden boxes that they cram them into.

Cheers Steve Yes I agree about the boxes but they are superb sculpts. I have most of the Napoleonics and have another two to do. The line officer and a grenadier again. These will be on the same base.

Lovely work Bob. So jealous Bob! As you know I'm a big fan of Avanpost but since the war started I can't bring myself to buy any. My Dad was Ukrainian. I know I shouldn't be bothered as the tax payable on the profit of a figure wouldn't buy many bullets but it's just how I feel. Wouldn't like the one bullet to be hitting my friend in the trenches. .
Just so you know, I don't mean any criticism of you or anyone buying their figures at all and I mean that. It's my issue and mine alone!
Keep enjoying the figures and I hope and pray to be in a position soon to get some again myself. All the best!

I know how you feel, I have a friend in Kyiv but I saw these on sale in Germany (IL miniatures) and have brought them from a UK supplier even after the Crimea was annexed by Russia. No offence has been taken and hope things will be resolved soon.
