Resin bust of a sailor from the USS Arizona with the ships standard (?) flag. Very nicely cast in grey resin arms and head tacked in place with blue tack, no gaps. As usual will be painted in oils over acrylic base coats.

Got some flesh on him (oils) and been in the dryer overnight. Hair still glossy so not dry yet, Need to work on his pupils , add some red into his cheeks . Tone in his shaved head. Paint his lips and maybe add some more shadows

Barok red (bloody Expensive oil paint) filter applied. Put in the heat box and left to burn off the Turps overnight, can add a few more highlights now;

Hi Steve

Great to this in V bench , certainly a powerful subject , good start all credit to you for dirtying up the face

Are you putting catchlights in the eyes ?

What about adding water dripping ?

Looking forward to seeing more

Happy benchtime

Hi Nap,
Yes eyes not finished yet, and may try to add dripping water, not sure on the technique for it though.
