Hello Folks
Some pics on the progress of a release for SMW Show in Telford this year. This diorama was designed by Hugo Pereira of RP Models for me some time ago. Tommi Worton is working relentlessly on the 3D side of things for the project which we hope to be ready for the show in various scales and formats.
It depicts the storming of the Iranian Embassy by 22SAS Regiment after terrorists had taken over the Embassy and after six days of negotiations with the Met Police who handed responsibility over to the army after a hostage was shot by the terrorists. The SAS entered the building and killed all but one of the Terrorists and released all but one of the hostages.
The 75mm version of the kits are complete and can be seen in the pics. 120mm scale versions will be produced next followed by 4 x 1/9th busts, 2 x 1/9th full figures and two 1/6th scale full figures. At the moment there are no plans to produce other scales but this might be reviewed at a later date.
I am taking pre-orders for the 75mm kits which will be available for collection at the show or via mail order afterwards. We can only produce so many of these sets but we will do our best to facilitate all pre-orders. Shipping costs for mail orders will be £5.50 in UK and at cost for overseas.
In order that I can collate the pre-orders please email only to [email protected]
When ordering please indicate if you will be collecting at SMW or if for mail order indicate your country of residence and your Paypal email. I anticipate that demand will be high for these figures so if you want any of them please pre-order.

SAS75/2 Balcony scene 4 x figures + scenic base = £125.00

And, just in time, a new book on the matter, too: https://www.penguin.co.nz/books/the-siege-9780241675687

Question, please: will the large scale figures, I'm thinking I "need" a 1/9 SAS (or two) in my collection - I've not done a full black figure, be scaled up versions of the above or new figures entirely? And, which two figures will be scaled up?

thank you,

Initially the 1/9th full figures will be the standing figure aiming with the MP5 as well as the soldier with the shotgun. The kneeling figure and the one with the frame charge may well be produced in 1/9th at a later date.
Cheers

I particularly favor the Operator with the frame charge. Never modeled before and rarely shown. I still remember when this happened and watched the news footage of the entry and remember curtains on fire. That operation changed everything about counter terrorism. The SAS and GSG were the pioneers.

I hope this set is as popular as it should be. Really well done.

Impressive release Gordon, deserves to do very well for you.

Thanks Steve
Big undertaking for all concerned. I've wanted to do this for many years and with the flexibility of 3D I'm able to produce it in a few scales. It's been broken down into single figures and smaller scenes to cater for everyone's pocket and preference.
Cheers

Many thanks Steve. I think Hugo came up with the idea of the frame charge.
