Hello planeteers ,
i have made some progress here, very little cause i am assembly some other troopers.
finished the coat , some details need here and there but the main body is done, kinda hard to see the contrast between lights and shadows but i guess i am not good with the lighting for the camera shots.
I had to sand one of the arms and as a result i need to repaint it , so the right arm is incomplete.
The pants and vest are done, hopefully you could see the difference in white between those and the 'creamy white" coat.
Lapels are completed, i may add more lights and shadows but i would like to see the overall figure almost finished before final touches.
Next i will go and finish the face,as for now it has only base color.
best regards

The whites are indeed different, it's a nice start, oils ? acrylycs or ?
Be carefull, to much Armagnac is not good for health:p

Hi Daniel nice start on this 'old school' style figure. Is this part of a larger group from the same regiment?
I note you are assembling more troopers.
Cheers
Derek

Looks good Daniel. Seems to me to a very large head.

Mike
Mike, the body of the figure is a 60mm (modeles et allures) , the head is 65mm, so slightly larger but i think overall they look ok , i do sand them a little then added the wig and hat, as for the hat i like a little taller tricorne hat as for personal preference, but i think the overall looks right to me , maybe this frenchmen are big potato head troopers :p
Best regards and thank you for your imput, always welcome.
Regards

Hi Derek, at the moment i am debating what to do with the figures, i am still working on the yorktown diorama, but i want to paint some other French regiments (not present at Yorktown) so i think i will keep it a small number and paint different units, perhaps a small vignette , i really don't know :(

They might be Irish yet, depends how the white goes. ;)
ahh....this is getting more interesting by the minute :)
I have a Clydecast Scottish guard ( garde ecossais) from the battle of Fontenoy that i want to paint, i also thinking of painting some of my new assembled troopers in the colors of the Irish regiment Dillon .
This is a neverending hobby
