The plan is to paint the figure to represent the 6th Regiment, Nikifor Kolobov.

Hi Roger

Geat subject looking forward to seeing the yellow ...I have a skinners horse bust that's " yellow"......following with interest

Nap

Thanks Kev.
I'm concentrating my efforts into getting a good opaque coat of yellow down at the moment. Who knows how it'll go after that but I'll keep you updated. :)

Looking really good Roger.
Yellows are one of my favourite tones to work with. I chose the yellow I want to be the main tone. Then to highlight drag a little to the left and add white.
For shade I take a red, usually crimson but lighter or darker works too, and add two or three different measures to the base yellow. I found it quite an eye opener how 'orange' you can go on 52mm pieces to get a good contrast.
That said I am sure that you have something in your mind to cope with it.
All the best
Keith

Thanks Keith.
I'm going to adopt my usual method, make it up as I go along. :D

Roger, you know the rhyme on coral snakes:red next to yellow...will kill a fellow. This new figgie of yours is definitely a killer.Very novel to depart from the well establishes ubiquitous "red" for streltsi and you have certainly worked wonders with the yellows,a notoriously difficult colour to work with. This is a wondeful figurine.I hope you put it up for figure of the month on February.

Oda.
