Nice start, Roger - Ive started to use cream or buff as a basecoat for yellow. Seems to work OK
Yellow is indeed a very hard to work with colour but I have great faith in your skills Rog.It will look fantastic.

Yellows are one of my favourite tones to work with. I chose the yellow I want to be the main tone. Then to highlight drag a little to the left and add white.
For shade I take a red, usually crimson but lighter or darker works too, and add two or three different measures to the base yellow. I found it quite an eye opener how 'orange' you can go on 52mm pieces to get a good contrast.
That said I am sure that you have something in your mind to cope with it.
