Another purchase from Figureworld North, this is a figure sculpted by Mike Blank for Richie at 1879 Miniatures. It represents Peter Vaughan’s portrayal of Quartermaster Edward Bloomfield of the 24th Foot in the film Zulu Dawn. It’s a cracking piece and a great likeness of the character. There are two ammo boxes included in the kit, a closed version and the open one which I’ve used here. It was a real toss up choosing between this and Richie’s new Buller figure and the trooper of Native Horse in the act of firing his carbine.

Hi Neal

That's not taken long !, a great sculpt by MB , natural pose and accurate to the subject

Like the ammunition box choice

Nice painting from you , like the variations in the blues

All credit to Richie for his 1879 releases

Thanks Nap. It’s a great likeness to the film character. It was good to see the other new releases from Richie in the flesh and they were certainly of a similar quality.

Very nicely painted and presented Neal.
Peter Vaughan's face is unmistakable (well done Mike on the sculpting).

Cheers,
Andrew

Dear Friends
Lovely to see this one painted, you did a great job Neal!
I really enjoyed doing this figure, but I must admit that I did not sculpt the head  , it was scanned and sent to me as a resin casting.
And a terrific likeness it is! :)

Thank you Mike. Loved the pose and that’s what drew me to this figure amongst the other new releases from Richie.
