Here are the first couple of photo's of my painting of Dan's Hero of the Revolution figure.
Still a lot to do but I'm pleased with progress so far. The metal of the rifle will be painted to represent rust and there will be a lot of snow and ice added to the general feeling of decay.
Hope you like it so far Dan.

Roger.

Great, glad you approve Dan. I might as well reply to your email here too  As for working quickly, well, after spending a month away I'm really in the painting mood and ready to crack on with it when I get back. The children are at school and the weather outside isn't very nice so I have spent almost two full days at it.

It's going to be a fine piece, I'm sure.
I hope I'll see the real thing one day.
Reminds me of my favourite movie, Dr Zhivago

Here are some photo's of the completed figure. There is also a crow which will be perched on the wire next to the figures skull. In my haste to photograph this I forgot to add it.
Sculpting by Dan Morton, painting by me.

Fantastic Roger! REALLY cold-looking and the colors are spot on!

Would it be possible to get a little more ice in the bottom of the shell hole near the boots?

Could I get a close-up of the skull or hand bones to see how you painted those?

Thank YOU Roger for collaborating with me! It's a lot of fun working with you, buddy!

All the best,
Dan

Hi Roger

when you add the crow it will be a fantastic scene. The whole scene looks real and very cold and I love the way you painted it.
