Rodrigo, thank you very much for your kind comments and interest.

I like to try and get as realistic as my skills allow so when I take the completion photo's you can be fooled in to reality.

This requires alot of patience as I have to back and forth over things that some may consider as done.

Anyway, I appreciate your support

Dave

Thank you Joachim.

The window has been filled and sanded further (external) and it looks much better as I thin out the stonework.

I'll be posting more pics over the next few days as I have a bit more te to hit the bench .

Dave

Superb work on the window Dave, both the architecture and the stain glass are excellent on it.
I have to give you credit mate the standard of work has been high throughout without dropping, its easy to start with high standards but a lot of the time it slacks off on a long project, you have maintained it well mate.

Look forward to seeing more soon :)

Steve

Hi Steve

Great to hear from you mate and many thanks for your kind words.

I have no intention of rushing anything, it has to be right in my eye's or I simply do it again. A good example is today. I have spent the last 5 hours filling sanding, shaping the internal and external window to make sure it looks authentic.

I want to fool the eye and this means getting the smallest bit of detail right. You can now see that I have added the mortar lines to the window, and just this little addition , suddenly brings it all together.

Here are a couple of pics of the almost completed window. I have just got to add the moulding to the internal window and will also need to put in some tiny beed to look as though it's holding the glass:-

I can't get over how well that window looks Dave.
Carl.(y)

Thanks Carl

It's taken ages to get the window to the point it is at now, I reckon the window alone has taken 30-40 hours lol.

I'm very close to primeing the church now, I have actually sanded the cork a bit smoother on the outside as it was looking a bit to sharp but now I have the lovely task of sanding down about 250 tiles:whistle::sick::cautious:(y)

This is getting better and better David.
I am much impressed by your attention to detail and perseverance to keep going on this mega project. (y)(y)

Cheers,
Adrian

Thanks for your encouragement Adrian, it's a right old slog but I,m kind of seeing the finish line now as once the window is complete, it's pretty much prime time and do not forget that the Tank is almost already done awaiting paint.

I have 5 figures to fit the scene but could do with a decent tank commander sat in the upper hull but all on track and enjoying every minute.

Cheers
Dave

Bingo Dave,

Fluting that exterior trim really brought the detail out and the inside trim will add the final touches to the glass. I find all those years of bustin my ars in construction has helped me tremendously when it comes to structure detail and depiction. Looks like you have an intense background as well, if not, I'd be surprised. Sure been a joy watchin this progress Brother!(y)

Merry Christmas, Ski.:D

Yo yo Stevie Skiiiiiiiiii MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and yours and that goes to all members on this wonderful forum.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed, encouraged and pointed me in the right direction in 2011.

Look forward to working with and seeing you in 2012.

Dave

Hi

I have put a thin coat of primer on various area's of the church which will help highlight any defects that need to be filled and sanded over.

I have also now got the internal window to about 95% complete and I'm not joking if I say the window alone has taken around 50 hours to get to this point.

I just need to add some small internal beed to the bottom and top, sand smooth, mask the stained glass and prime.

Anyway I am pleased with how it has turned out:-

Hi Dave, echoing your sentiment to the members of this forum and H N Y to you and all.
As ever your progress is taking this project to another level. My compliments on what you have achieved mate.

Regards,

Ron

Primer on and ready to paint just a tad of magic sculpt on the joints.

But now I really must get on with those roof tiles!!!!!!!!!!!

I am treating the roof as almost a seperate model as it slips on and off with no fuss so I may also need to think about securing the church to the base and getting the groundwork done.

Tank is ready to paint and I have nearly got all my figures together, so I'm not far off giving myself a good 3-6 months to paint the whole lot:-

PS..............I need a break now as it's so far taken up all my spare time over the last 6 months, so will sign out for a couple of weeks.

It's just too good David! (y) Very inspiring both the result, such as the SBS (special thanks for that), brilliant ideas and execution, can't wait myself to see the painting progress and the final result!

Thanks for sharing!
