Dear all, thank you so much for taking the time to comment!

Adrian, I did so much research during the build that I almost ended up going round in circles lol. The messages coming out of books and forums were all pretty much the same, in that mid to late summer 1944 was a real mish mash of soldiers, paratroopers, panzer crew, ss to name but few. The clothing was also a bit mixed and so I did not get to hung up on absolute specifics and thought the mixture in the scene actually helped convey the steady retreat through Normandy and helped reflect the disorganised state that ensued.

Steve, thanks for your massive support during this build, it really helped spur me on when things were in danger of running in to the cupboard of th unfinished grey army. I have a new project already set and will begin the concept drawings. As I feel I have a bit more confidence now I may do the odd single figure or bust along the journey this time to try and mix it up a bit, rather than concentrate everything on the single build.

As for the figures, well, there are 3 Alpine figures, x1 Jeff Shui, x1 Des kit and finally x1 (converted) airbourne. I did consider a 7th I front of the Tiger but after careful consideration,it just looked a tad odd.

Happy days and time to clear out the work area for the next one, concept drawing will be with you all soon.

Cheers
Dave

Only just catching up with this one David ... worth the wait though ! :)

What a model you have created !! this is a project and half in 35th scale but 1/16th ?!! you have pulled it off !! great modelling the overall look is very nice and one id like to see in the flesh.

Love that church interior and stained glass uber cool

Thanks for your input Carl!

I may attempt some 1/35 one day, but I struggle with the size of the figures and being able to paint them at a quality I would want. 100 - 120 mm seems spot on for me but the drawback is obviously the size lol.

Enjoyed the journey and not sure I would do much different TBH.

Cheers
Dave

Well mate, you have reached the end of a very long road, and what an enjoyable journey it has been. For all of us. I have learned so much from this project and am happy to have been a very small part of the whole.
Many congratulations on achieving such a superb result. I look forward to your next project and am sure you will raise the bar yet again.
