Update, reshaped the beret as said to reduce the overhang, tweaked the facial colour a little, completed the smock Camo on the torso, worked on the webbing a little, painted the OG's, Puttees and boots. But on to the pictures, the base looks lighter than it is in these pics, have shown a view...

Had it before on one of mine, managed to warm it then add another coat over the top, think it blooms if cold, mine came back ok.

You can now go to bed Carl, you must have been up since you recieved it, excellent work, full marks there :D I have only managed to get the box open.. bTW for those interested.. The butt of the SLR had a cleaning kit in it, so there was a round panel with a square section on the top of it...

No problem, reshaped, used my nail clippers, lol, to bring it closer to the original, though slightly deeper, will take some pics for comment, paint BTW is a Vallejo Purple and Vallejo Hull Red mix.

Ok... following on from the comments, the front of the beret has been remodelled and the overall height dropped a bit, how does this look now?.. :)

Trouble with comment this and that needs tweaking is the camera does not show what it looks like in real life, I would not touch it, it is stunning and the leather work is the best I have ever seen, Period. You should be immensely proud of that, a tour de force in painting

Large scale sinking of the titanic with all the passengers on deck as she is going down and the boats are leaving with internal lighting on the titanic. Or A large scale model of the ship in the film starship troopers that was hit by the burning ball the bugs were launching in orbit...
