personally, i like the beret just the way it is nowt, but looking at the pics it resemble more a French foreign Legion beret that a Brit para.
I would hate to hapve to reshape it  ,but i guess you want to be as accurate as possible.

No problem, reshaped, used my nail clippers, lol, to bring it closer to the original, though slightly deeper, will take some pics for comment, paint BTW is a Vallejo Purple and Vallejo Hull Red mix.

Update, reshaped the beret as said to reduce the overhang, tweaked the facial colour a little, completed the smock Camo on the torso, worked on the webbing a little, painted the OG's, Puttees and boots. But on to the pictures, the base looks lighter than it is in these pics, have shown a view without the base so you can see his boots.

I am following the pap with interest. I think it will be very usefull for painting my British Soldier N. Ireland bust (also made by M. Corry). IMO this figure shows too much neck outside their place. Also happens with the bust I bought. I cut some resin and It is better now. Let me know your oppinion about it. About the DPM it looks nice. Congrat!!;)

British ;)

Lovely DPM there mate, just bear in mind that denims only had a map pocket on the right thigh, these trousers are sculpted as windproofs I think. No drama if you paint the trousers different shades it'll only add to the realism. Looking forward to seeing this guy finished.

Hi Tony, that is correct, it was sculptured for wind proof, and OG`s and Denims only had one pocket, but still a fantastic job, I have one of these figures that I have tried painting in my old uniform configuration, I wore a 3 Para smock and OG trousers and high leg boots for the attack, as I felt sure once we took Longdon we would be heading for Stanley, I wanted the locals to know this is 3 Para, but as it was I was wounded and when I was being casevact through Teal Inlet I was mortified that they cut off my OG`s and norwegian shirt :). there were loads of kit configurations, still a great job, all the best Jimmy

Thanks all and Jimmy, will convert them to DP's, It seems a shame to saw a pocket off :( how is yours coming along?

Do you still have it Jimmy! If you wish and If you have I will exchange it with this one when done, tell me what you want changing and I will give it a go.

Hi Tony, this was my effort, I looked at other peoples and got disheartened, I painted it a couple of times and stripped it, and decided to go with the wind Proof`s and putties :)

Jimmy that actually looks very good, the Camo will not look as pronounced when you paint the webbing and buttons etc, it will break up the solidity, you will be suprised it will all start to come together, don't get disheartened with it, as said if you want this one when done.... It is yours.

Hi Tony, if I strip it could I send it to you, I will pay of course, I would just love to see it finished, I am on the right.

I didn't doubt you at all Jimmy, seen your posts elsewhere when looking for references, It's ok would be pleased to see this go to someone who will appreciate it.

Will get this one finished first, before we go any further, so what mods do you want, take it you want the left pocket off to convert them to OG's, what head do you want! Beret one or helmet?, what badges did you have on the smock? And which weapon do you want? SLR or Gimpy, also what was your weapon, wood or plastic stocks etc, any markings such as we used to have on ours Odi xxx etc if high boots have you a picture if some, mine were the bog standard ones, though never ever wore Puttees, they used to drag along the floor behind you like a slug trail.

Hi Tony, thank you but just do it the way it has been intended, mine would over complicate things, but it has to be with helmet, and gpmg, faded cam cream, similar to this chap, (Cpl Harry Heap) Regimental Provo,

So DPM trousers, will vary the colour shade to make them different, Helmet, GPMG..... gotcha, was the GPMG wooden or plastic stocked, or would you like a combination of both, (adds interest and breaks the gun up a bit.) did you have any markings on them, we used to have a number on the stock of ours, though we never got personal weapons, we just got what ever came off the rack. You mentioned pay, there is nothing to pay BTW, I do these for fun, not profit. :)

Hi Tony, we just generally we looked weather beaten, we probably did have Company numbers in various Company colours on weapons, but most gpmg`s had plastic butt`s, we got our clothing second hand from the KOSB`s who had just returned from Norway or somewhere cold :)
