The use of the term United Nations at that time & in that context is interesting, as the UN wasn’t chartered until the following year. Obviously the idea was in the planning stages in June 1944.

A lovely little conversion Bob, very clean & precise with your lead foil shoulder belt addition, & superbly painted as always. Dark blue can be a difficult shade to pull off, but you’ve done it admirably. Nice addition to your cabinet!

Another excellent figure, Peter. I really enjoy seeing what you do with box stock plastic kit figures, & older Verlinden resin pieces - you turn them into real competition winners! Proper job (y)

Another great effort, Peter - like the fur effect you've achieved on the ushanka, & the restrained shading on the tunic.

Nice original idea, I like it a lot. Figures compliment each other well, & the Hornet head with a slightly apprehensive look is the icing on the cake.

Peter - I think it probably was the desire to create an elite look, & thereby motivate the troops to perform well.

Lovely work, Alex. I like your rendition of the 6th Armd Div flash - I too wore that flash when I was serving a Germany in the 1980s, but it was on a blue background then & the unit was Task Force Hotel/20 Armd Brigade based in Detmold. The formation still exists today, but now it's known as...

Great work so far, Peter - do you ever sit still? I've always liked seeing the uniforms of the Panzer Lehr Division in Normandy, they must have been unique in having their Panzergrenadier regiments wear the special clothing for crews of armoured vehicles.
