Planet Figure at Folkestone in May

As a modeler I have all ways enjoyed going to Folkestone and Euro. As a trader I have enjoyed it just as much as I get to see all my friends and make new ones. I have heard that Richard is stepping down too. But I believe Steve Kirtly (SK Miniature) is looking into hosting/organizing the...

    Advice for traveling with Figures

Hi Chris, Couple of things; Jon Page at Sphere produces make a series of transport boxes and at one time he had the measurement for the airline over head luggage boxes so he would know if the boxes fitted or not. As for fixing the models you can use either Velcro or magnets and metal...

WIP “Into the jaws of Death”

That is a very nice model Neil well painted and well put together. Just a cursory point if you decide to take it to a show or two (which I hope you do) I would recommend bracing the horse with a piece of card, place between front legs and along the belly, to stop it bouncing up and down...

WIP “Into the jaws of Death”

Progress might be slow Neil but the results are well worth it. Keep going as it is coming along nicely I particularly like the horse. As a side note you can always turn the gunner by 90 degrees so instead of pushing at the Hussar he is about to receive the saber blow on the plunger.. Regards

WIP “Into the jaws of Death”

The Gunner is coming along very nicely as usual such natural colours. With the horse may I suggest adding a little white to its eyes at it would be scared/startled. the gloss will add life too.. Keep up the good work.

If you are after some thing different then take a look at DarkStar resin and wood bases.

WIP Hawk Miniatures Sgt, 15th Kings Hussars,1808.

You have got a nice natural effect on the busby and the fur. Also the uniform Dark Blue is about right as I have seen this figure painted with a lighter blue which is incorrect. Should be a stunning handsome figure when you have him done.

    Plinths and plinth wood

I totally agree with Marc, Name plates from NameIT - who do an amazing job Bases: any of the mentioned producers. As for size of the base it depend very much on the bust but as a guide I try and make sure none of the model is over hanging the base as it make transporting them easier. It...
