Open Book 8th Pennsylvania Cavalry 89th Regiment Pennsylvanian Volunteers, Battle of Chancellorsville May 1863

These are really great castings. 1/35 is a pretty odd scale for this period, and unless they release more from it, we are stuck with just those three figures with no option to expand the scene. Still beautiful stuff.

    Mountain men hand covering

I have never seen trigger finger mitts on a mountain man. While there are naturally no rules about it, the most frequent representation of hand coverings I have seen illustrated is gauntlet-style mittens made of wool. Look at the art of Frank McCarthy or Tom Lovell.

    Indians

We all need to take note of the warpaint on these pieces; in reality it was not applied with an airbrush and template rendering it perfect and permanent. Once again your work blows me away, Ruslan. Fantastic.

    Suitable first figure?

I think it best to start with a simple uniform color-wise. Feldgrau as opposed to dot camo or the like. This allows you to focus on your technique as opposed to having to learn the ins and outs of painting camouflage at the same time.

    24th. Foot, Rorkes Drift.

I am sorry for my ignorance but where do we get this one? One can never have too many Tommies in cork helmets and red coats.

Has anyone used 'Clear Resin',. In depth, to create a deep water effect.

I think Clear Resin is what Meehan34 uses to get those fantastic water effects he does so well. Once he sees this I am sure he will pipe up.

    Books/Magazine, Forum ?

For my ten cents this is a great idea. From the number of questions that appear here that could be answered by looking at a book I am not so sure that all of us even use books, but this dinosaur has hundreds.
