    Removed from exhibit

Here's a posting from the Fort Pitt Blog. It was in reference to the displays that were no longer in the museum. Though it was already known by me that they were no longer there I was just curious as to what answer my inquiry would receive. In all fairness to the individual who answered I have...

The Fort Pitt Museum Part 2

The map shows the layout of the museum galleries of the Fort Pitt Museum. This map was featured on the inside back cover of the book Point of Empire: Conflict at the Forks of the Ohio By Charles Morse Stotz, Architect of the park and museum. Stotz also designed the museum's exhibits. In 2006...

The Fort Pitt Museum Part 1

A map of Point State Park by architect Charles M. Stotz and Associates who includes the distinguished landscape architect, Ralph E. Griswold. The museum building was designed by Stotz, as were the exhibits in the museum. I went to the Fort Pitt Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the first...

Influences Part 1, Read all about it

The Golden Book of The Civil War played a huge role in fostering my interest in the Civil War. The colored "bird's eye" maps of iconic battle fueled my imagination as a young boy. Some of my earliest memories are of heavily illustrated books. The Golden Book or American Heritage book of the...

    Influences

Books that had a significant influence in my interest in history and also art, being that many of these were illustrated books. What things influenced your love of Art and history growing up? Was it a particular book, work of art, movie, or even a toy? As a child I would have to say toys and...

    Crickets

That's about all that would come to mind if you've come to this blog looking for something new or a reveal of even something old never seen before. Time for change long overdue' “Beginning in itself has no value, it is an end which makes beginning meaningful, we must end what we’ve begun.”...

    Minisoldiers - News

There appears to be a bit of confusion as to how the blanket roll was attached to the top of the knapsack. The four small "belt loops" are where the straps that secured the blanket roll passed. The top of the knapsack was where the overcoat/greatcoat was to be secured. The soldier's blanket and...

    Changes coming

I've decided that both of my blogs have pretty much run their respective courses in their present form. They're both eventually going to be replaced with something fresh. I have decided to concentrate more on painting, and not just historical subjects that tend to pigeonhole my interests and...

Other than the issue with the plaid the sculpting is excellent. That has to be one of the best miniature dogs I've ever seen.

    Painted Irish Brigade Relief Sculpture

I was pleasantly surprised to receive an Email from Bernd Rummelein of Germany. Enclosed was a photograph of the Irish Brigade relief I sculpted for the Artist Preservation Group a few years back. It's really rewarding to see people not only buy your work but paint it as well. Thank you Bernd...

    Romeo - News

First time I've heard of this. If they did reverse the drum because of damage then they would be not only beating on the bottom of the drum but on top of the snares of the drum as well. Not buying this story, just turn the drum around and call it a day.

Fantastic sculpt. Just don't put the drum upside down when you assemble the kit.

Completed 54mm figure - Polish Lancer - Napoleonic Wars

The diameter of the staff/pole for the lance looks rather large. The figure on the other hand is very well sculpted.

    La Meridiana News

Then again, there are a lot of things that were and are illegal both then and now. That alone doesn't prevent people from doing them. Were there armd "Black Confederates" during the war? I'm sure there were. IMO their numbers were not in the several thousand like some claim.
