WIP Critique New bust - Francois Fournier Sarlovese

Colin, Very nice. Though I can still sculpt relatively small I do like doing larger busts. They're also require a LOT less eye strain. These larger busts also lend themselves well with the amount of detail some of these Napoleonic uniforms had.

    Grunt (Andrea Press)

IMO if the book is printed with heavy stock paper and the printing quality is there $99 is not a large price tag for a hardcover book that's almost 500 pages. I'm curious to see how well the material, i.e. uniforms, equipment, weapons are covered. Another thing to consider is what other titles...

    Dolman Miniatures......Coming soon

The cap looks too small. Caps worn by the 3rd NJ were basically forage caps without a visor.

    New WWI accessories from ICM

Bad choice of scale. IMO 1/32 would be more well received.

    Union Infantryman - Minisoldiers

One thing that jumps out is the placement of the leather loops the blanket roll straps pass through to secure the blanket roll. The knapsack appears to have two sets. One set is exposed while the rolled blanket sits on top of the other set. My guess is there is some confusion about what these...

Figure studies for Company of Military Historians article

Ever since I was a kid I wanted to do some illustrations for the Company of Military Historians journals or it's Military Uniforms in America Plate series. I offered to do some figure studies for an author that was working on an article for the journal. Hopefully publication of the article will...

The Osprey Men at Arms title Wolfe's Army talks about this in the plate text.

Oniria Miniatures: Braddock's defeat atl Monongahela

Nice vignette. I would like to note one specific detail that appears to be left out of the subject. General Braddock had detailed orders concerning the dress and conduct of his troops while on campaign. Because of the hot weather woolen small clothes ( breeches and waist coats ) were replaced...

Dark World Creations Presents Union soldier from the ACW

Looks good. However, the cap pouch/ box looks very narrow and the bayonet socket is way too small. The sling for the cartridge box should be under the waist belt ( not over it ) to prevent it from flopping around. The rifle looks to be the correct size, but lacks a ramrod and the lock of the...

    Sketchbook

In addition to working on a few painting I also started filling up a few sketchbooks. One is historical subjects while the other one are non historical ( for the most part ) in nature. I recently completed this drawing of Edgar Allen Poe, along with a few quotes. A few color studies and more...
