    Falklands Para.

Hi Guys, I also have this figure from Maurice Corry, I think that the clarity of the photo does not show the scabbard fitted in its holder on the ammo pouch and that it is only the bayonet that is on the SLR. I agree with the other comments from gwensp especially the puttees. Mark - this is...

Mark, I still have some more contrast work to do on the white, in particular the Czapska. Hopefully he'll be ready for AMSS. Seb, the bust is 1/9th scale. Steve

    Officer,17th Lancers 1825

Hi Guys, I have just picked up my brushes again after a few months away from the hobby. This is a Deborah Raymond bust, I still have a fair bit of work to do on it including his white and red feathered plume which will be a bit of a challenge. All comments welcome. Steve

    Matt finish in oils

Tony, when I was over at AMSS early this year I was shown a product by Conny of Fredericus Rex it was called Mamittel fur Olfarben which i have used and it does dull down your oils significantly. Cost was about 4 Euro's for a small bottle but you dont need much. Try this link...

    The Time Machine

I would like to go back to the any era just to watch how some of the magnificent buildings were built and all without the modern technology and equipment we have today - I mean how did they build the pyramids and how did stonemasons manage to get such ornate work on many of Europe's finest...

    Gravesham Show 2006

Sorry guys I would love to attend but its a bit far away for me ( I make an exception for Euro ) and I agree with Brian about Darlington, I made the trip this year and there was a demo from Adrian Hopwood as well as plenty of trade stands and friendly banter. I cant wait for next year...

    Gold strike

Well done John, I didn't realise this was one of yours until they mentioned your name during the prize giving. An excellent and original subject. I would have loved to have seen your Seaforth Highlander in the bust category - there were a lot of the same figure and not many original or...

    Euro 2006 Gallery

Roy, thanks for the photos from Dave and yourself, another great show and again some great work with the medal winners taking it to another level. It was great to meet fellow planeteers as well as spending lots of cash :) Hope that all our overseas visitors had/have a safe journey back. Steve

Hipika Gymnasia - Roman Cavalry bust

Nice work Frank, An unusual subject for a bust. I like your painting of the metals, as for your tartan its a damn site better than my attempts at tartan. I like the simple pattern and colour that it has been painted :) Steve

    ACW 2nd Wisconsin 1863

Hi John, David told me to take a look at his latest bust and I can honestly say that you have done an excellent job painting it - well done :) I think the standard that David is producing is very good and I wouldnt mind doing this one myself. I assume you will be painting the figures he's...

    Historically correct.

I voted sometimes - when I buy a figure its usually from a reputable manufacturer so 9 times out of 10 they will have done the historical research to make sure its accurate. My joy is in the painting I try to get the colours correct, sometimes its right, other times I have made errors and thats...
