Well, Tamiya paints are alcohol based paints. Some people use isopropyl-alcohol to strip Vallejo paints from their mini. I guess it just makes sense. that it also reacts with citadel paints. It is just sad that you found that out in a bad experience. :(

Okay, I give up. I have tried to find some more informationon on the bust, but I can't find that ogre neither on the tbforum with "ogre" or the sculpters name as search-keyword, nor on the ElGreco-website. There I tried the "The Basement"-miniature line and the keyword search as well.

It is great for the first figure, very neat. Just keep it like that. The eyes are good as well, not that easy for a beginner. For the next ones try some of the suggestions of Steve, like drilling out the muzzle, starting with color gradients. While you are getting more practice and better along...

Why not use the red from the shield and a tad bit of the shirt green to dull it down to a more brownish red? That way you reuse the colors and get some variation while keeping harmony. That is just an idea coming from a newbie :)

The Raphael Series 8404 are also really nice brushes. Just stick with them.
