    200mm SS Helmet decal/painting

Hi Dave, my father was veteran of the SS and served at the Eastern front. I can assure you that the helmet decals - especially the swastika were removed to decrease the visibility. The SS decal was covered with mud or white washed if no helmet cover was worn. In many propaganda shots...

    200mm SS Helmet decal/painting

The member is https://www.planetfigure.com/members/constantin67.7413/. His thread about the decals is deleted... in Germany no surprise due to the content as these decals are subject to legal consequences but possibly now the same on PF. while we can present models of German soldiers and...

Review Airborne Miniatures Wehrmacht Soldiers- 1:16

I agree with these comments - mostly:). This is a very smart designed pair of figures with an acceptable compromise to the new production method. Some details necessarily had to be exaggerated (the same with classic sculpting) and the folds and creases are softer - at the collars the biggest...

Nassau Troops at Waterloo - Uniforms

After conducting recently a brief research about the appearance of the Nassau troops in the 100 days campaign I thought I might share some results with the PF-Community. My focus was on the 1rst and 2nd Nassau Regiment - it should be noted that more Nassau Troops were present in this campaign as...

    Completed Brunswick hornist 1815

I am coming late to this thread - I might add that the units called Compagnies légères were the volunteer detachments that fought in the role of Light Infantry wearing black uniforms while the grey clad units were formed from huntsmen - in a way an elite formation with special skills...

Officer, Light Company, 1st Guards, 1781 Troop54 New Release

Placed an order - wonderful figure. I was too fast with my order before I noticed the 75mm Brunswick Dragoon - if you read this maybe he can be added to this kit and we amend the payments? Cheers Martin

    The Vikings Arrive

Lol, can't help but maybe "thieves, robbers and murderers disembarking for another brutal raid on helpless peasants" would have been the context in times closer to these events. Nevertheless excellent sculpts and a great diorama. Price and scale would be appreciated.

BILL HORAN - Post your favourite's here

As long as it's a single piece Mr Trojani won't consider legal action as he stated once. He will take action against commercial kits that use his paintings as a guide and inspiration without his permission. Legally these kits are considered as copies although they translate two dimensional...

    Troop54 miniatures

I sincerely hope that your prodution of these excellent figures will continue. Their scale doesn't matter to me as long as the concept of "men on campaign" will not change. It is sad that you have to face financial crisis and that former releases are gone. Fortunately I could get several of them...

    News from the Lost Battalion

IMHO it is not a problem of the castings but a "style" of the sculptor - you can see toolmarks etc. on the surfaces of all busts. A proof how much the standards have risen the customers expect since then. Nevertheless a nice range of different former manufacturers and competitive prices.

WIP Attack on La Haye Sainte at Waterloo in 28mm

There is an eye witness account about the destruction of the Luneburg Batallion by the CO of LHS Baring who went back to the ridge with them ( probably by this causing a misconception by Wellington that LHS was lost) and then returned with the light companies of the KGL. He tells that the French...

WIP Attack on La Haye Sainte at Waterloo in 28mm

I quoted from a summary of reports and accounts from survivors available in German. If some made it to the orchard the majority did not and was caught in the open field. Oberstleutnant Klenke survived his wounds but did not join the defenders of LHS. Anyway it is up to you to go so close by the...

WIP Attack on La Haye Sainte at Waterloo in 28mm

The Luneburg Batallion was led by Oberstleutnant (Lt Col) von Klenke. He was wounded while trying to stop his troops on the flight when they were ridden down by Cuirassiers from the Travers brigade. The withdrawal of the Luneburg Batallion took place before they reached the orchard of LHS and so...

New Alpine Figure - Feb 2024

A shining example that not the tools - may they be traditional or modern means - make the difference. It is the artist (sculptor and painter). Cracking release!
