I have always admired Bill Horans work, i bought his Masterclass book in late nineties and still read it sometimes but more than read i look at the pictures of his master pieces. There are many great figure painters around the world but Bill Horan is my nr.1 choice.

La Fortezza 54mm white metal figure. I used Vallejo acrylics to paint this, not entirely satisfied with the result, lot to be learn to master these paints.

Face is almost done now.

There was quite a lot of pitting, especially on the jacket, i quess this is quite old figure, i have seen this packed by EMI, which has been out business for a few years now. La Fortezza seems to have lot of these older ones under their label.

It has been almost a year since i painted a figure, so i decided to try it again. I chose La Fortezza 54mm white metal figure of famous Wild Bill Hickok for my come back, relatively easy and simple one to paint. I already assembled the few parts and cleaned molding seams and imperfections.

Excellent job so far, i have a soft spot for Confederate subjects, so your work is very pleasing to see.

La Fortezza 54 mm white metal figure, painting with Andrea and Vallejo acrylics, dirt effects by Vallejo pigments & turpentine mix, base is cut from insulation foam sheet, groundwork from wall filler and few pebbles, painted Tamiya acrylics using airbrush, finally snow cover by Microballoons...

Today i painted the tunic using Andrea paints, base is almost ready, hope to get this done at weekend.
