kevin, I use spiritus(methanol) to strip my figures. bare in mind that you don't want your figure to long in this fluid,because it weaks the resin. I normally use an old brush and give it a rub. René

fellow modellers, What brand of Varnish is the best to use,to cover my oils . I used several brands. revell, Humbrol, ModelMaster and so on. But all are having i slight glossy shine. I really do want a super matt finish. I did a few hours ago an attempt to finish a face. After two weeks drying...

I think it's looking good. perhaps the shade area in the face can be a little better. I mean the fading between highlights and shade.

Guys, The confusion was complete.So many ways to achieve a colour shade. But after reading all the replies on my question i'm confinced. Paynes Gray it will be. That's the colour i was looking for. Many thanks fot all the good tips and tricks. I am very happy to be a member of this planet :)

Marc, Steve and Carlos, Thanks for the comments. I start next week to try it out. I always thought that it was a blue-ish (is that correct english???) shade. I will try it out on an old figure. It's so good that there is PF. keep the good work going :)

What colour should i use to get the look of an unshaved face (three day beard) with oils. I normally use the face base color with a little blue. But the result is not that what i would like to see. Any suggestions??? Thanks, René

Guys, Thanks for the comments. Yes the muzzle Flash eliminator is indeed a bit of center. I am going to fix it. The lips are not as red as the appear on the pictures. Today i am going to give the coat a maat finish. Greetz, René
