Ecxellent work Adrian!
The flesh looks great and the faded colours on the jacket and trousers are just superb. Love the grime and dirt also, I will try the mixes on my next G.I
Very reallistic!

Hi Adrian,
Love what you are achieving with this figure, everthing is very suble and balanced in your brush work so far and not over stylised. Great tonal variations with out being harsh or in your face. Your colour palette is spot on. Look forward to you finishing this one, keep up the good work buddy.
cheers
Richie

Now get those brushes moving.

Thanks very much for your kind and flattering comments Richie! Much appreciated.

By the way, that chimp is pretty good at blending transitions. It must help if one can paint with four hands....

Cheers,
Adrian

Hi Adrian,

so far I've only read along quietly (and with great pleasure).
But now I want to tell you that your work deserves high, high praise!
Your SBS is really fun!

Cheers

Hello Adrian, I've been following your SBS from the beginning, and I must say, your painting style, (or whatever you choose to call it) is excellent. Very nice color choices on the face, equipment, and uniform. I would also like to thank you for posting your color mixes, as I'm still experimenting with Vallejo paints, its much appreciated. Best of luck with the completion of this figure. Any thoughts on how it will be displayed? Regards, SG:)(y)

Hello Martin,
Thank you very much for your nice comments. It's really nice to hear such feedback. And I'm glad you like the SBS. When can we see another one from you?! I allways enjoy your well-researched posts a lot. I'd look forward to it!

Hello SG,
Glad you like my painting. Don't hesitate to ask about colour mixes. Experimenting with colours can be fun, but it can save quite some time if we can use each other's mixes.
For groundwork I will make a dusty gravel path with some dry grass to keep with the brownish and dusty tones.

Thanks guys!
Adrian

Quick update.
Now with arms attached and largely painted. Will fiddle some more with them but this is the general look. Insignia still to be added.
And groundwork started, well about 80% finished actually.
Finishing line in sight!

Adrian

Hey Richie, thanks a lot!

Hi Krom, great, thanks!

Hi Rene(?), glad you like him and the groundwork!

Left to do are the boots and gaiters, insignia, gun sling and a couple of spots I forgot about or that need fixing. And some playing around with the groundwork. Hope to have some deceint bench time tomorrow evening!

Cheers guys,
Adrian

Lovely job Adrian.

I had this one all painted and based up myself, but unfortunately he was "KIA" when I moved from Germany back to the UK a couple of years ago.

I blagged a replacement on feeBay though a while back, and I look forward to painting him again at some point as it's a very nice figure. I like to think that my second effort will be an improvement on my first. I shall use yours as a benchmark! Thanks for the share.

- Steve
