Thanks very much Bob. I'm presently juggling my time between this and some aircraft kits but there's room on the bench for both.

    A passing thought....

Golden rivet? Too busy sniffing BR 67 Admiralty Manual of Seamanship for those kind of shenanigans.

Thanks Neil, it's all I've done today between two dog walks.... sheer bliss. Roger.
  4. billyturnip

    A passing thought....

Even more so Carl considering I was of the Gunner variety. They aren't even allowed crayons to colour the pictures in.
  5. billyturnip

    A passing thought....

Gone off that Derek, they all smell like trawlers.

Thanks very much Neil. This is how it's looking after today's work....
  7. billyturnip

    A passing thought....

Oil paints and thinners, ok. I get that but there is no smell like a new book. My wife thinks I'm some kind of weirdo sniffing a new book before having a read..... or looking at the pictures. Roger.

Thanks very much Brad. I'm at home on leave at the moment until about 9th July. There's nothing like a SYW Prussian to get the flat figure juices flowing again. Roger.

A Day in History: Lord Uxbridge's Leg

....buried together with the other remains of the Lord in Lichfield Cathedral in Somerset ...: By God Sir, they appear to have moved Lichfield Cathedral!!!!!

Thanks very much. Not too eagerly I hope on the bench I've got 1 x 1/48 aircraft, 2 x 1/72 aircraft and a full round figure. I suppose I could triage them and deal with each in turn.

Cheers Kev, let's not get over ambitious but I'll see what I can do. Roger.

It's been awhile since I've painted one of these but felt the urge again. This is a 54mm musician of the Prinz von Preussen Cuirassiers based on an illustration by Adolf Menzel. The illustration and other info can be found here...

Panzer IV's, Messerschmitt Bf 109's, dusty boots, it's all the same. :playful:

    Pontic militia, 1919.

Thanks very much Richie. Yes, the airbrush was used for some of the weathering. (y) Roger.
  15. billyturnip

    Pontic militia, 1919.

Thanks very much Marc. Most of my spare time has been spare on aircraft and armour kits, I have a flat underway at the moment but progress is slow. Roger.

    A Little Diversion

Not YouTube but unintentionally funny all the same, as if the risk of catching Covid 19 isn't bad enough.... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-52143223/clap-for-carers-uk-applauds-nhs-staff-and-key-workers

    Pontic militia, 1919.

Thank you very much. I hope everyone who has a look at this figure takes a little time to find out for themselves about the Pontic Genocide. Roger.

    Pontic militia, 1919.

    Thanks very much Ken.

    Pontic militia, 1919.

Thanks very much. My two top tips are, airbrush and don't use black except for the deepest shadows.
