    Wehrmacht infantryman

Looks good, alright; I'm wondering about whether there is a companion figure to accompany this one, otherwise whom is he signalling?

WIP Airborne Miniatures, 'German KSK operator #2', 1/9

Thank you, gents; this is the reference I've been working off, and putting this side by side with the figure, as Simon says, I need more dabs. Or dots. I'm confident I've the colours correct, just need to work on the density. There are large areas of solid colour, and equally, there are large...

Thanks, Simon. It was a chubba chup cola. The things we do for our hobby. Whilst not the clearest shot, I do think I need to add more dots / dabs to the trousers. To break up the green.

    German KSK

Great figure, very nicely done. I'd be happy if my Airborne KSK in 1/9 turns out as good.

Progress from a wet Sunday, I've added a suppressor to the rifle, and if you think that just looks like a lollipop stick he's banged on the end, you'd be correct, a bit of painting of the head, and a rework of the camo colours, I wasn't happy with the grey and mixed one to suit.as always, plenty...

New Alpine Figure - Feb 2024

Just when you thought 3D scan and print had made hand sculpted figures redundant, Alpine prove them wrong. Very nice work.

    Food Fight STL files

Great concept and imagination, but not something I'd buy. Would be fun to paint, not being limited to skin tones and camo.

Thanks, it's been a (almost) whole day at the bench, here's the head primed... The profile needs checking, but I'm not about to lose sleep over it.

Hello Manie, Yes, I used XF 52 for the brown. In other news, why not try something a little bit different (a synonym for difficult), as per images. This was three hours of pure modelling joy... It looks a bit rough, but in the interest of finishing, I'll stick with it. The dome, I've a hair...

1/6th British Army 1970/80's GPMG Gunner

Great subject, great pose, great execution, all the detail is there with options to represent the regiment of your choice, a winner all round. Nice

    New Release from Tin-Berlin

Great figure that I'd buy in large (1/9) scale, 75mm or less is too small (for me) to show off the great detail, like the duct tape on the right hand rail of the helmet. In 54mm, that would look more like a casting flaw. As for the flag, I'd remove it or cover it with an Old Glory decal. But...

    New Release from Tin-Berlin

Hi Steve, I suspected that (250mm in the title was the bust), and saw the comment re NVG, hence the question as you're absolutely right, and as Ong says, this is the most modern figure currently available, it stands to reason that the NVG would be there.

    New Release from Tin-Berlin

And, if I may add to Ong's questions. The helmet has the battery fitted for the monocle NVG, is the NVG available, too? If this is going to be available in bigger scales, I'm keen for one in 1/9, no Ukrainian flag, with the NVG, please (sorry to be so demanding). I'm thinking of this as a camo...

Cheers, guys; appreciate the feedback. Simon, yep, a definite trap that sometimes I've wanted a lifeguard to say, "whoa, easy Tiger, that'll do." I'm approaching that point here.

Hi Nap, A bit of work to do yet. Comparing the image to the figure, I need to fill in some areas more. It's not a complex pattern, I only need to paint one colour at a time and then I'll have flecktarn! Well, that's how I look at it. Happy bench time. Kylie

WIP Airborne Miniatures, 'German KSK operator #2', 1/9

All five colours applied to the legs; I went back and touched up some areas as, looking at the reference image, there are "large" areas of colours, not just clumps of dots. Plus, I wasn't happy with the shape and size of some of the dots that I'd done. I need to go back and add daps of the...

WIP Airborne Miniatures, 'German KSK operator #2', 1/9

Quick update before I go to work; referencing the image above, the light green is not very wide spread, whereas the brown, black, and green are, with small areas of the mid-green / grey to fill in. I will finish the legs first before starting on the torso, I'm conscious of rushing this...

WIP Airborne Miniatures, 'German KSK operator #2', 1/9

Ok. We're back. Started on the second figure, did want to have both in a vignette, but also really wanted to have a crack at flecktarn... I went for NATO black, brown, and green, and flat green over field gray. It's a dark camo, and I reserve the right to change my mind about the colour...

fellas, this has not been abandoned, merely on hold for the Christmas period as the kids are home, and I've been under pressure to get the garden in shape... before lunch, and after lunch: I will get back on this once the kids are gone again.
