    Bonapartes Cavalier Bust Re-released

Maybe its the perspective of the photo but the rapier looks more like a saber. Is it just a bad angle of the photo, warped resin or is the sword not the traditional rapier? Otherwise, this is an awesome figure with lots of character and great detail. One I will definitely look for.

    Jousting armour piece identification

It's a Wrapper. And it is an add on piece of armor that would be worn over the armet and bevor. Since the encranche or targe is mounted on the left that is a target for the lance, the wrapper adds a level of protection in case of a miss or the lance runs up off of the encranche. It serves to...

WIP Opinions wanted - U.S. Marines Fallujah

I like the idea of the door because it is a)true to the original image, b) it funnels the eye into the vignette of figures and acts as a frame. c) it is the pop of color in an earth toned scene.

    WIP Norman Knight Hastings 1066

Good point Mark, but I suppose it could be argued that if the soldier did not wear chainmail over the gambeson or aketon then the wear, dirt and grime may not pattern the material as you illustrate.

BRAVO-6 Scout with Dog - Nam

I love the figure. I like that the handler has 2 canteens (at least it looks like he has 2). The Dog bothers me though. The ears are folded back wrong, the tail is in the wrong position for the dog's attitude and posture and there are some issues with the proportions and musculature of the legs...

    Use file for 3D printing

Thanks guys. I appreciate the info. pokrad, not planning on using the DAZ files for a figure, was just wondering if those files were usable with the 3D printing hardware. I have a few colleagues that currently produce cgi models etc. for various applications as well as sell independently. For...

    Use file for 3D printing

Not familiar with the use files for 3D printing as I probably should be, I was wondering if a program like this : http://www.daz3d.com/people?p=4 is usable for the process? Or are the files specific for the transfer to the printing process?

3D Printing -is that the end for sculpting?

Tecumsea originally posted the question way back on page one, post one: " I have seen a lot of posts on 3D printing-does it mean that the future is to build something on a computer screen and then just print it out slam it in a mould and sell it? Will it be the end of sculpting as we know it? or...

    Good dinosaur kits?

Thanks Spike, I've seen Shane's work and am very impressed. I went to one site that offered his work and was put off by the note, "each of these are individually cast and may take several weeks to fill the order" which in my skeptical/paranoid brain means, I'll never see it. Especially after...
