A Fixture
Hi figure modellers,
Just thought I would post some pics of a kit that I finished several years ago. It started life as an injection moulded Airfix anatomical skeleton that I thought I'd make a bit more sinister. Modelled very loosely off the skeletons in the Sinbad movie, I did the following changes.
The spine was cut and repositioned in three places giving a slight turn and more curve. The legs and arms positioned to reflect a charging and slashing motion. The sword was scratch built from styrene and placed into the right hand and all fingers were cut at the numerous joints and positioned around the handle. The sheild was also scratch built from styrene and placed on the left arm. Once again the fingers were repositioned to hold the hand holds. His skull was extensively modified by hollowing and reshaping the eye sockets to give a more angry apperance, rescultpting the teeth and jawbone and engraving runes onto the forehead. All parts were pinned for strength.
It was painted in Humbrol enamels with extensive washes in Oils and dry brushing, with some pastels for the deeper shadows.
All in all, I was happy with the outcome. Hope you enjoy the pics and I welcome your comments.
