Simon is right: Oak Leaf camo only on padded winter trousers! For Normandy trousers of the cut seen on the miniatures would be field grey or in Pea Dot pattern; Italian camo trousers mostly came with a pocket on the left thigh and were cut very generously...

Thank you Karl

I think I’ll stick with field grey for the trousers.

I’ve made a start!

Kit is pretty good, plenty of mould lines to clean, so about half a days work to get here, but it’s going together well.

Some parts are dry fit for now as I need to be able to prime and paint, before finalising the position.

Yep, that's a good kit, imho. Those stowage box attach points are delicate, so I pulled them until the final assembly, and they still broke, so be aware of that issue. Big bike, no doubt!

Looks awesome, never tackled a vehicle this large but I can imagine the fun you can have in the build,oh and the stress of course. Crack on I'm enjoying this already.

Happy New Year

Cheers Simon

Nice, a good dirty and oily engine on the way, sometimes miss doing things like that so this is extra interesting for me.

Cheers Simon

Thanks for your interest.

It’s a labour of love for sure as it’s a typical plastic kit with some messy sprue fastenings and mold lines, so it takes a bit of prep and cleaning for each piece. I figure to get a nice clean finish now and that will pay off with the paint job.

Bike frame is about there, dry fit test for the parts after paint all fitting well.

Paint is going to take some planning, but I have a plan. The holding bar, is dry fit too as the rider comes with one that he is holding .

Dry fit of the two main frames complete.

Handle bars and front suspension all dry fit at the moment so it can separate, same with the stowage boxes and main frame for the side car. Main frame separates at the bottom to squeeze in the main engine once it’s been airbrushed.

The instructions to understand the sprung suspension at the front required a degree in engineering but I got there in the end and although not required I made it functional.

There is a lot of detailing and tubing to add but I want to prime separately.

Hi Dave

All credit to you , looks a mass of pipes and tubes to me ........but very detailed, interesting you’ve fitted the tyre ...presume you’ll remove before painting the spokes etc

Congratulations on the engineering degree ...lol

Thanks for the update

Looking forward to seeing more

Have FUN @ the bench

Thank you

Tyre is dry fit, both sides need painting separately before gluing together and fitting the tyre. Due to the many component parts, there are lots of segregated areas for painting, so it’s not as straightforward as build then paint….its kind of build and paint as you go!
