Hi all, it’s been quite a while since I have posted on here, now Kev has sorted out my password….I’ve been posting on my instagram account #paulblaber_blabsy or on Facebook.
If anyone was interested.
I fell for this figure when Pegaso had posted in progress pictures before release, now finally obtained one, I couldn’t help myself looking beyond the original to something else, a less studied Regiment of the British cavalry of the Napoleonic period in this scale 75mm, so after removing some detail reworking the face to my own liking, fresh headgear……I did initially forget myself and started under painting so not showing all the putty work.
So the English dandy of a Hussar is taking shape!
I’ll add more pictures as I go.
Happy modelling
Paul

Hi Paul

Great to see you posting...a nice looking figure based on that Osprey illustration of course

Good start on this , like the work on his moustache and sides , hair looks good as well , liking the red lining on his pelisse very “hussar”

Look forward to seeing more on this as I’ve got a bust similar from Hawk Miniatures a Sgt in 15th Hussars which I think was also DG ...might be wrong though !

I presume you've been near a oily motorbike looking at those nails ......lol

Have fun @ the bench

Following with interest

Thanks everyone for your kindness taking time to comment at this early stage.
Hopefully get a little bench time Tuesday or Wednesday?
I under paint in Humbrols then when totally dry I start painting/shading in Humbrols I will also add an artist oils for depth occasionally and fine detail will be acrylic.
Looking forward to it!
Happy modelling.
Paul

It is a wonderful figure and an accomplished modeler's conversion for sure. The choice of subject is perfect. Not many people remember that there were Hussars on the other side of the Channel too (the fact that they-more often than not-used to style themselves as "Light Dragoons" didn't help either).definitely following this.

Oda.

Hi all, after two days working on everything but this project I snatched an hour or so to add a little more life into this…I will add by my own reconning it’s a bit rough in places but hopefully I’ll iron these out in the process?
These are iPhone photos so quality is a little to be desired but I worked from one pallet all Humbrol apart a couple of dots of artist oil’s.
If any of this makes sense….happy days
