Hey guys,

Here's a shot of a work in progress. An English Civil War Officer of foot. When complete, he'll have the typical period big hat and a rapier in his right hand. Wire and copper tubing armature covered with poly clay to create the basic masses then Magic Sculpt.

Well done Shane, I see you are a man of many talents.....thanks for showing us and post some more photo's as you progress.

Superb, something I can only dream of. I hope to see lots more pictures as you progres.

Shane, Very nice. Great to see you doing a full figure. The face, drapery, anatomy etc are all falling into place. I too can't wait to see more. Good going.~Gary

Looks good, Shane!

I see that you've acquired a taste for the same grumpy, 'difficult' characters that I do.

The bulge above the sash is very realistic. Be careful though not to overdo it. Buff coats (I presume it's a buff coat) could be very hard and thick and not as pliant as one would imagine. After all they used them as a kind of light armour.

Looking forward to see the next step.

Best wishes,
Quang

A point well taken, Quang.

I intend to go back over some of my folds and make them look more like thick leather.
I appreciate the comments, especially from someone who is a master of the 120mm. Having finally started one, I have a new found respect for the challenges of large scale.

Hey Robin,

At this point it's probably not a production piece, unless someone says they want it. I just put this one on hold to start a new production job. It's likely I won't return to it until next year.

Thanks Thorne, it's good to get feedback from the folks who wear the gear. See my reply over on the ECW forum.
