This is a confusing one for me! ..and I may well be out here on my own on this thought.

Although this seems to be a very accurate and a very well rendered figure, with lots to do on it. For me it doesn't en-capture the 'Vietnam feel' or essence of that conflict ???

How, can I explain this!.. :( .. I suppose everyone has in there own mind what an individual 'Grunt', in Vietnam looks like, especially those carrying the 'Pig'.

Perhaps he is carrying too much kit, maybe he is fresh in from the 'World', perhaps he is in training in 'Louisiana', (firing blanks at Cajun's).

I think the bottom line is that for me, it is too 'Clean', and devoid of story/emotion, especially for a Vietnam subject.

'Heading for my Bunker',. :D

Regards,

Mark

Hi Mark
I take on board your points about the figure been too clean but for me this stems from MMM policy of not having box art for there figures. I believe that when some paint has been dabbed on this figure will transform and you will be able make him as dirty and raggedy a...d as you like.

Definitely one on my want list and very interested to see what MMM and Moz come up with next. Why stop at Army/Marines.
There is also Navy or how about a Phantom pilot, they are slightly in vogue.
Peter.

I can see Mark's point and I kinda felt that way too, but I may alter the pant legs, etc., to get a more ragged look, alter the towel around the neck, leg pockets. I'm just glad to see the Nam figs coming out in 120mm, much needed arena, IMHO. Good points Mark.

Cheers, Ski.

......if he's 'too clean' then paint him 'dirty'. Simples.

Moz strikes again. He seems to have an uncanny knack of capturing the look and feel of a soldier in a given period. This figure is not one that's normally my bag, but testament to Moz and the team at MMM is that I like it nevertheless.

I Like this figure and comes from a neglected period as far as figure modelling goes IMO....I sort of grew up with Vietnam on the TV in the 70's and as said all figures look clean and neutral without paint....as the advert says just add imagination...LOL......Kevin
