Polishing the white metal blade can produce very realistic results. I also like to add a thin coat of clear gloss acrylic over the top of it to seal the finish and ward off corrosion. Without that, I suspect the bare polished metal might lose its sheen over time.
 
Working on the French Line Lancer officers face using Acrylics from Lifecolour range. Making his added face scar prominent but hopefully not overdone.

Glued the larger pieces together using CA gel also as a light filler, wiping across gaps with a cotton bud before it dries. I will do this again before painting the uniform detail and doing high/low lights.

Time to let the glue set and evaluation before continuing.

Line Lancer reference

Uniform colour reference - 1er Régiment des chevaux-légers

Green - chrome yellow and winsor blue greenshade
Scarlett red - bright red with just a hint of cerrulean blue
