There's more to it than that Richie, our eldest daughter goes away to university that weekend and we are supposed to be doing "something special" that Friday, I honestly can't think of anything that will be more special than meeting up with other model geeks in Darlo but there you go. :D

Hello mate.....if it was me...Payne's + a hint of Raw Umber.....the umber is for the dirt/grease in hair

Ron

Thank you Ron, very much appreciated I will have a go at that tomorrow.
cheers
Richie

Hi Roger,
You have a great and well deserved night with the family mate, you know I'm only goading you. I will catch up with you later.

Hi Gerard, Colin and Brian,
Thank you so much for your kind words and praise I feel very honoured to mix in such company(y) I'm so glad you like my effort as I admire your work immensely.

Brian - I am still on with the other bust, I have done some work on the face but apart from that nothing, as my efforts have gone into the Rorkes Drift bust. I plan to carry on with this on next. He will not be post battle or as hard weathered as the other but will be a little dusty maybe.
Thank you again for the support this will spur me on no end.
cheers
Richie
Keep going mate, thanks for your kind words,I'm looking forward to seeing them finished :)

Richie - these are looking excellent. The weathering is spot on, at least how I imagine it should be for a dust up in South Africa.

Hi Colin,
Thank you for the comments mate, always value your advice and help. I want to make a big dent in the other bust over this weekend.

Richie I miss one day and you come up with such a huge change to this fella.
He looks fantastic Mate, a load of very good little touches. I really like the dusty, blood stained, sun bleached jacket.
Very impressive.
All the very best
Keith

Hi mate,
Thanks so much, I did not want to overdo the blood thing, but saying that did want to try and portray him post battle. Still a little bit to do yet, I want to apply Ron's advice for the hair as I think it just needs a lift, then glue the head in position and tidy up one or two bits then in the cabinet with him(y) and crack on with the other one.
cheers
Richie

A good guy to take advice from Richie.
I like the techniques that Ron uses and the results that he acieves are first class.
For me your volume of the red body juice is very well measured and where it it is runnig down on the jacket gives the notion of soaking into the cloth and just discolouring it. Love it.
Cheers,
Keith

Hi All,
A small update on the 24th officer bust, I have blocked all the other colours in and have been working on the cross belt, pouch and changing the tones on the tunic. I have also fixed the pistol lanyard indicated by the arrows, the front was short and the cord at the back of the neck was completely missing! Something to bear in mind if you buy this one, but easily fixed with a bit of solder wire. Also a small hole to fill on the neck between the tunic collar opening.
cheers
Richie
