WIP 40mm Nouvelle France

I had a long painting session this morning,
The base colors are in and finished the Blues.
I will work on the hat, face and hair next...

Last brush strokes from 2024, the cap, face and jacket are done.
I will go with the troussers and weapons next...

Really nice so far, love the subtlety in the jacket, makes the drab colour pop a little.

I was debating if i should have done more contrast between lights and shadows, but i will leave it like that, i may take a picture during daytime outside to make a final assessment.

These are a little beefier and taller than 40mm sash & Sabre Miniatures, and more less about the same size with Front Rank Figurines.

Natural daylight is always the best but do you find subtle changes in shade with the differing light from the bench to the garden?

I believe so, i will have to take one outside and compare side to side.

I took these chaps for an outside pic, it is a sunny cold day today unlike the past few rainy days we had here.
I think the colors are definitely more accurate with natural light.

They look good in the sunshine, maybe deepen the shades a little unless it's the bright light killing the contrast.
