I had some busts sent me by a fellow modeller and here is the first one.

It's a 1/10th Officer in full dress uniform from the 5th Bengal Cavalry in 1910, comes in three pieces, Head, Bust and Turban (Lungi) tail. The sculpting is first class and done by Rob Lane of Hawk Miniatures.

As usual I shall be using Artist's oils for the flesh and Vallejo Acrylics for the rest.

The box-art and two of the three parts in primer.

Base colours blocked in, the lacing down the front of the Kurta and around the collar is so well sculpted for such fine work.

As you said Keith a good start

He certainly does have " generous " mates and from what hear rather good looking ones as well!

Never known anyone paint so quick !

Nap

Nuff said.
Yes Geoff does have a turn of speed.
I calculate that as he uses oils the 1st piece is dry just a he starts the 4th :cautious:

It's only the face that is in oils, the rest is Vallejo acrylics Keith, and thanks bye the way, I just love painting busts and have a very understanding wife which helps. Once the weather improves I shall be slowing down as we shall be out days visiting gardens and driving around the lovely countryside down here in the SW.

I suppose one could say he is good looking;) "but I couldn't possibly comment".

I wouldn't say I am fast, this is only the first/ base coat of 3 or 4 thin coats each getting lighter for each of the colours, so about another 4 or 5 days yet just on the torso.

Hi Geoff

You are off again ...Mr Speedy a la bust

Really like this lots of great details on him ...and 2 medals as well

Following with interest

Nap
Thanks Nap, those medals have come out nicely just in the black/white primer, think I might leave them like that as it shows the 2 styles of Q. Vic's head off a treat.

Looking forward to seeing this one with some paint one. I am becoming fond of the Indian Army of the Raj and working on a Risaldar Major of the Guides at present.
I have nearly finished painting his Kurta, then the cross belt will need some attention.
I think I an also becoming fond of this period and India, of the four busts I have just purchased three of them are Indian Army.
I shall be interested in viewing yours.
