i have just finished this bust. i have tried many new things on this bust after watching alot of talented painters at work a cple weeks ago in Tulsa. (thanks guys). i have changed the blanket several times wanted a quilt type blanket , but i felt it distracted from the bust. so here are some in progress photos along with the finished ones. still need a base.

You made a good choice I think Rick. Much of quilting is about the stitching. Without the stitched texture on a bust this scale it would be a difficult effect to pull off. The last version looks really good.

Rick ,

Nice work , the blanket roll looks so much better , quilting is hard to pull off IMO .....on my Confederate I must have changed mine far too many times !!!!

Nice butternut colour and fleshwork with good 5 o'clock shadow

How was the fit of this bust , how many pieces did it consist of ?

If anyone has one they don't want ...pm me !!!!

Thanks guys for the nice comments.
Kevin., this kit had only four pieces. the main body the head and two pieces for the bugle. it fit together perfect, and not much flash at all either.

He turned out great Rick and like the others said the finished blanket is the best choice. It was a pleasure meeting you and seeing this in person at our last painting jam. I think we are going to do another on Decemeber 17th.
