I personally think you've dealt with the whites perfectly - any more shading would be too much.

How do you get the outlines of buttons this sharp?

Do mean shiny?
Outline in gloss acrylic black first and then printers inks. Base colour mix is silver with Raw Umber and Blue Black. Highlight with pure silver ink

Thanks for the tip.
I meant that the dark outline of the button is a very sharp and thin black line, very neat. I struggle to get that right with small details such as buttons. For buttons shiny black seems like a better option than matte black.
