75mm - Polish husar - bark, bark... tatars are coming...

Hi,

please find attached my very first try in 75mm scale . I find it easier at some sculpting's aspects but... harder at others... A really nice change of subject from usual busts scale for me...

This is work in progress, so I have to finish: body pose, details fittings, some other details, zupan's belt, fingers, hat and... the barking dog (which is just a sketch right now...) three heads are planned.

Oh yes, in my humble opinion you are really creating a
most dramatic scene here. Each element looking off to
the left. The dog was a very good idea, to add to the
tension and drama of the vignette. The viewer gets the
idea, that something is going to happen, rather dramatic and
violent, very soon.

Well done, I will follow this vignette with much interest,

Great to see you sculpting a full figure in this scale, Piotr. It looks brilliant so far - love the subject.

It's refreshing to see this hussar standing and accompanied by a dog, as opposed to mounted and 'winged' as we usually see. The pose of both figure and dog are very tense and dynamic.

Can't wait to see how this one turns out.

kansas kid -> thank you very much for your kind words, I will try to finish this figure this month and I will update this asap .

tomifune -> thanks! The dog also looks a little bit like a terminator with those metal-wire legs... at this moment I hope to sculpt an "Ogar Polski" type of dog that suits the figure's era...

NickM -> thank you! There is no many known photographs from that era , but I suppose that they between being mounted they (hussars) had to walk also on the earth's surface ... But the real reason is that sculpting the horse is still beyond my skill's horizon... , so that is why he is standing still instead of being mounted. I decided not to add the wings - mostly because there is a lot of controversy in literature how it looked, how was attached to the armors, its shapes etc.
