I started another project. Started on the base and head for now, let me know what you think. I thought it looked ok till I looked at the photos, now I'm not so sure. I need to leave macro mode off I think, it only makes me sad
Not a bit of it Billy, I zoomed it up as large as I could and it still held up at over 150mm chin to top of bearskin.......try it, it still looks good Mate Cheers, Keith
Thank you for your kind comments guys, you've certainly made me feel a little bit better about the paintjob. I've revisited the head after looking at the close up pics and corrected a few errors that I'd spotted (stray paint spots etc.) but I've decided not to tamper with it any more.....probably....maybe
Now, onto the tunic. I'm eventually gonna run out of easy(ish) areas to paint and I'm gonna have to face...the tartan (cue dramatic music). Dreading that but looking forward to it in a strange way too.
Thanks again for following so far and for your kind comments, more pics to follow soon.
Billy
Thanks for your comments so far. I thought I'd post another couple of progress pics, I've made a start on his body working from top to bottom and I've reached the kilt now. He's already made 3 trips to the Power Spray booth because I couldn't get the tunic right so I hope I get the tartan nailed first time because I can't bear stripping him again. I know the white sash needs doing but I'm leaving whites till last along with final touch ups. Every day's a schoolday it is said, and the main thing I've learnt over the weekend is that having white next to red on a small scale figure is a real PITA (paint white, get some on the red, touch up with red, get some on the white etc. etc. etc.)
Anyhoo, here's the pics. As always, comments and advice are very welcome:
p.s. His head was attached till last night. It, erm, fell off. Hence why the collar looks a bit scabby, it needs deglueing and touchup.
I already have that page bookmarked and I've been studying it for the last week. Got the blue shade ok (I think) but the green is proving troublesome, it's a weird kind of tealy green which I can't seem to get right.
