There is a fine lesson on basing going on here...it’s not simply a platform for a piece with some bits stuck on...but part of the overall composition with attendant detail that stands close inspection

Because a large part of the base will be hidden by the head and hand...I decided to keep the tones 'muted'....there will also be a good amount of vegetation...in keeping with my original idea of nature reclaiming it's own years after a battle between man and machine.
I will add more green tones once the vegetation is in place to blend it all together.
In the meantime I will let the pictures do the talking.........

Hi Steve...thought I'd lost you mate :arghh:

Really glad your enjoying it mate :)

I haven't gone about it in as much detail as normal....simply because most of you know how I work...but....feel free to ask if you need more info (y)

Having done some more work on the head and hand, I decided to temporarily place them on the main section of base to check progress of the whole.
Still a lot more details to add to all three elements, but getting there slowly......

Yes.....It really helps to be able put a piece together as you're working to be able to keep a continued visual of the finished piece that you're working on so adjustments can be made if necessary..... Keep up the good work.

Ronaldo, you can get pretty much the same place with rattle can primers...the basic approach of transparent oils scrubbed and highlighted, worked on..that’s not needing airbrush. Ron has an arsenal of tricks and breaks every rule in the books...but there is something here for everyone to make use of ..
