Hi Andy,

Lovely sculpts mate. Both of them are excellent character studies.

What caught my eye is the change in your painting technique. Much more subtle use of highlights and shading this time, and it really works. Two of the best pieces I've think you've sculpted or painted for some time.

Thanks guys,
for the comments, its much appreciated.Tony, the change in the painting style has come about since our IPMS competition in Wellington. After meeting a Guy by the name of Mike Butler who is a wonderful figure painter, theres something in his painting style that does it for me.Its a style that has been rekindled and if i paint in small areas at a time and finish as I go then for me there is some sort of improvement.
For me this hobby is a continual learning process through sharing ideas.
Andy

Andy you are way too kind mate! You've done the hard yards on these and it's paid off.

These are super little fellows, each real characters (as we've come to expect from you ;-) But now painted with a softness & homogeneity to your blending that really lifts them to something extra special. The added care & attention in the finish reinforces your sculpting skills.

Take a bow, you should be justifiably proud of these & others should see them worthy Xmas pressie fillers.

Kindest regards,

Mike

P.S. This further reminds me to get my brushes out & start work on that painting that other project of yours, can't wait!
