I sometimes like to return to projects I took on but never quite satisfactorily finished in my long-departed youth. A couple years ago I discovered Valiant Miniatures was still in operation and got some of their offerings.
I recall trying to make this figure work during the 1980s and eventually gave up. Certainly not up to today's high standards but, not going to lie, I had a lot of fun. I suspect it was Shep Paine who sculpted this gent.

Thank you for the comments.

Sorry about the photos. They are an expression of frustration more than anything. I got sick and tired of wrestling with my Cybershot DSC 300 and even though I carefully set the ISO, f stop and EV, I simply could not get anything worth while and gave up.

My iPhone takes photos which are closer to the actual colours. They are also clearer and in focus. Just want a decent photo not grainy, off-coloured, out of focus rubbish. My two cents.

Nice finish! I like Valiant, and it's great to see someone paint a Valiant figure.

Yes, they're still in business, and they maintain an eBay store, too. I've bought from them via the eBay store. Most recently, I bought a couple of their Minutemen figures, and some accessory pieces, for a diorama I'm working on.

Prost!

Ah memories. I still have this one in my cabinet, painted in the late 70s IIRC when I was in my late teens. It's the only figure I have kept from my very early days. Lovely to see it done by someone in this day and age, I think you did a great job and the character of the figure still holds up after all these years.
