With Airfix re-releasing so many of their kits, and designing many new ones as well, why don't they offer once again their excellent Collectors and Multi-Pose lines? My old stock of these from decades ago are long gone, and I've been clamoring for the re-release of these for years.

Curses my plans foiled......
Up to now I got away with that by snitching about the london loot, took the heat off me,
Now you've blown the lid off and the fed's will be knocking.
Damn you Snadders
I coulda been a contender
With this painting I'd have been top of the world.
My nom de plume amongst the gentelmen tea leaves is "The Raven".
(Cos I poo from a great height)

Would it be worth organising something to bring this to Airfix's attention??

Just a thought

Brian I really appreciate the offer, very kind, you sell it buddy.

To explain; next year I shall be taking as long as it takes to make this scene complete and exactly "as is" in 54mm scale.

I've wanted to do this since I was a kiddie, and if I don't do it now .........

So, I shall need a wall of grenadiers and some line infantry to convert.
If I can start getting them now I'll be ready at the end of the year to begin

I wish you all the best with this project. It's ambitious, nay mad or bonkers and I can only say you're a brave man and I think such projects or actions are fantastic and wonderful.

Cheers

As the rest of us at the special clinicl say ...
as we hang up our rear fastening 'hug-me' coats,
and get ready to Daub pigment on our vintage plastics....
Na-na nana-naah don't care so nerr, sorry I don't know how
to type loud raspberry noise Huw.
Seriously I've thought about it and planned it for years. It's doablle if built in sections as if I am making three seperate diorams and then putting them on a single base.
At the rear is the berline and staff.
Left the fleeing group, right a wall of grenadiers right front,
The remaining assorted group of fleeing and fallen.

The gun was built as I received it, I couldn't resist.
So I'm going to start left front, and build each group left to right.
I am not going to do anything else once started until it's done.

Thanks for your kind wishes
Paul

This seems like an excellent plan. For the wall of Grenadiers have you considered using Historex? For the others what manufacturers are you using rare you sculpting?

My background plan is a history of French heavy cavalry 1792-1815. Git all the reference material and accumulated Historex parts galore over about 15 years - now I'm just waiting for the right feeling to get started as it should consist of about 60 figures - means I'm a nutter I guess.

Cheers

I'm using a proper old mix Huw.
The reason for the wanting Airfix too is the line infantry are in 1812 uniform and are more quickly put together and altered compared with historex for extreme poses withou a major resculpt for every figre, plus there's a height difference which gives a real variety amongst groups of figures. I am using Historex Berline cannon and limber Etate major set for napoleon, staff and
the mounted grenadier officer and the red lancer.
The grenadier in the centre is the one Airfix used as their pattern, and the others in the 'wall' are derivatives of the same pose.
So that's my reasoning, and should demonstrate my insanity.
This is the only project I shall undertake in the new year so I'm using this year to clear away and finish the rest of the projects I have begun.
Even the 'shelf queens' and the 'can't be bothereds', there's plenty of them.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this diorama develop.

I know what you mean about stock though- my wife made a costing of my stock and scared me!!! And they were only the pieces she knows about...

Cheers - time to hide in my hobby den

Ohhhhhhhh.... Sorry yeah I see what you mean now, bunching on the objective again ?
Mate Brecon wasn't open then, you can't criticise them !
Have you got any btw?
( What I should've done at the start of this thread is to have suggested
"Please send me a kit and one photo and I'll put your face into the diorama"
I bet I'd have half the french army by now, instead of so-called mates saying I need therapy.!
