I recently picked up this four figure set from El Viejo Dragon. It includes a centurion, 2 legionnaires, and an Egyptian woman. They're about 60mm scale and I'll be working in acrylic.

I began with one of the legionnaires. So far I've worked on the skin and the armor. Just put a base coat on the clothing which will be an off white. And of course he's missing his shield and other hand.

With four figures there's still lots to do. Thanks for taking a look and hopefully I'll have more updates soon.

He looks as camp as a row of tents, but your painting is very good.

Thanks, everyone. Glad you are liking him so far.

Steve, ha, first time I've heard that expression. I had to look it up. So, you think it's the skirt and shaved legs that makes him look that way?

In case anyone was curious, I'm using Reaper Master Series for the skin tones. My darkest shadows are Chestnut Brown mixed with my base, my base is about a 2-1 mix of rosy shadow and bronzed shadow, and my highlight is tanned highlight (which is lighter than it looks below, the model above shows the real shade). On just a few spots on the face I also used a touch of fair highlight (nose, top of the cheeks). And of course plenty of intermediate mixes between the shadows, base, and highlights.

Still making progress on the first Roman. Finished the cloth and started on more of his equipment. I've also been prepping the other figures in the set. I'm hoping to start on another one of them this weekend.
