I know I wrote, that I am interested in ancient Greece. And now I post dinosaurs.:D

I finished this one some time ago. This is Allosaurus, one of the biggest predators of the late Jurasic period (155-145 mln years ago), that lived in North America, and possibly other continents.

I sculpted it using miliput as a base, later covering surface and sculpting details with green stuff. Dino is in 1:40-1:30 scale having around 22cm in length.

Later I cast it:

This is just gorgeous, is it for sale anywhere? I LOVE dinosaur kits but most are horribly sculpted or just plain ugly, this is beautiful.

I do have one question, when you cast it, why did you put the injection spot thing for the resin on the top of the head instead of the flat part of the neck to make clean up and removal easier?

Thanks!

Yes it is polyurethane, Rencast 52 and small amounts of other.
And second yes, they are available for sale (they, that means Allosaurus and feathered Utahraptor, I will show him tomorrow or on Monday) if you are interested contact me with PM

Locating injection spot on the top of the neck allows proper casting of teeth. If it was placed on neck-body joint then it will be impossible to pull out the air bubbles from teeth on upper jaw (an possibly other places), resulting in bad cast.

Now this is something I feel more qualified to comment on than military figures... and it's great! The only criticism I'd make is that I'd prefer the shoulder wrinkles were more in line with the trunk wrinkles. But that's a small thing compared to the overall model.
I can sympathise with Smeagol: too many prehistoric gaming minis are terrible, based on only a passing familiarity with the creatures. But this has real thought and care put into it. I think I'll be sending a PM. :)

This looks amazing !
My daughter is a big Dyno-fan, and she did some of the Tamiya Dyno plastic kits, but this is totally another level. I must show her this one ! ;)

For my money, Allosaurus's scarier than T-Rex. It has "real" arms with big meat hooks on the end. My favorite dinosaur, and the state fossil of Utah (Allosaurus fragilis), since you've also sculpted Utahraptor.
