Outstanding work, Mark, I think I'll do my figure the same, except I'll paint him as a Panzer officer with black panzer wrap.

Cheers,

Nemanja

Hi Mark,
looking really good now.
Could you post a pic looking down at the lower half of the figure?

The pastel effects look great on the white pants, on the boots, the angle isn't allowing for a different viewpoint.

cheers

Thanks Mark,
yep, that's the kind of angle I was looking for...
mainly because I wanted to see how the pastels had been applied to the boots.

Most of it seems to have ended up in the welts and seams, and hardly any on the toe caps.
Which, from memory, seems about right.

I think you are right in saying "Yep, this far, no further; cause if I add a teeny bit more, I'll ruin it". That's the mark of someone who has recognised the moment in hindsight... I know I have:eek::D;)

So I think it is a commendable effort, and I thank you for sharing it as you went. I particularly like the whites.

What method did you use for applying the pastels? Apply wet with a carrier? very good result, very realistic.

cheers

Hardy .... many thanks :)

Hi Jamie .... yeah boots get cleaned by grass and stuff so mud and crud tends to end up in the depressions ( i know cos i do alot of walking and its muddy for about 9 months a years LOL )

the pastels are applied both ways .. distilled water onna brush, pick up some powder and apply splats and dots.... then used a short brush and applied the 4 shades dry to get that ground in look .. then a tiny run over some of the edges and seams with a very very slightly wet brush to pick up and move some of the dry effect

and thanks for the comment

:D
