Mate i would love to get to Euro just to see this one in person, great on the monitor but something else in the flesh.

Good progress Mark. I wouldn't rush it though. There's always next year!

This is some figure. I'd love to get one as well, but I'm hesitant about APM because of all the delivery issues reported every now and then... :-\

Cheers,
Adrian

Mark, excellent progress and hope it's completed for Euro, still, if not you could always take it as a WIP, and how about giveing a painting demo on Stu's stand  that'll create a log jam.:D(y)

Cheers Ken

Thats a good idea ken, I wonder if charles davis can squeeze me a couple of extra foot of space. Great fig mark, U is da man

Stu

Steve ... Thanks! :)

Carl .. True :)

Adrian .. No chance of me rushing, just would like it sorted for this years :) and AMP appear to be going through some changes, for the better I understand...

Chris .. Thank you :)

Marcel .. Thanks again! :)

Ken ... Thanks and me give a painting demo? No chance of that mate ;)

Stu ... NOOOOoooooo :)

Hand Painted V Decals..

I tried to paint the dashes on the chute harness. I failed utterly! I designed some decals and printed them on some decal paper.

Decals win!!!!

:)

Very effective use of the decals mate and beats painting every one of those little stitches.

Coming on nicely now but don't keep me too long for another update, this is my only entertainment in life :D

Steve(y)

Steve ... As I said, decals win :) and thanks :)

Carl .... I'm not teasing! that webbing must have been a swine to sculpt, never mind paint! :)

Gordy .... Thanks and yes it is a sublime piece of work ( especially if your into the era/subject ) :)

Lots of details and then just the chute bag and shoulder straps to sort out!!! ( and the ropes on the left hand ) and a fair bit of touching up and then some mat varnish to get rid of the finger grease sheen :(

biiiig picture to show all the warts :)

Hi Marc,
First time I see on a scale such good detail.
Now as for the painting I can say that both the face and the colors of the gowns are fabulous and look pretty in reality. But the detail that has been in bands I think deserve more comments.
Bravo!!

Alexandros

Hi! Mark.
I was following after your progress so far.
There was always new discovery.
You're a technician and an idea-man.
I'd like to pay my respects to the passion you include among a work.

Mitsutaka

Alexandros ... Thank you :)

Mitsutaka ... Many, many thanks again :)

Almost there!

Grass needs to be greener, rope still to finish ( re-made the kit parts with 5 amp fuse wire ), some NMM work on eyelets and the middle gubins on the harness and a fair bit of touching up to do :)

A final spray with W&N Galeria Matt Varnish ( ultra flat finish over Klear ( expensive but you get 75ml, so it should last a while :) )) will see it done.

I don't think it will make it to Euro though :(

Markus ... Thanks :) Finished it!

David ... Thank you very much! :)

Carl ... Yup! ;)

Finished!....

After a concerted effort there is just a misting of mat varnish to do! Phew!

Also after a short e-mail correspondence with Maurice Corry ( the sculptor ) this will be used for the box art for this figure :)

I'm well chuffed :)

Thanks for all the many replies and comments ( and especial thanks to Chris Oldfield for the loan of the book ) and I'll see some of you at Euro and everyone else back here after Euro for more painting madness

Cheers

GothicGeek aka Mark :)
