Looking fantastic Luca! Can't wait to get a couple of these last few in my stable. Very nice casting work, and YES, I greatly appreciate the efforts in making this one one piece!

Joe, you know I am relatively new to the modelling world, I just started when I joined that forum, so I am unaware of what happened before.

For the few I know him, Manuel seems to me a very good guy, always worried about the quality of his production. There are some manufacturers who simply does not care about their castings, but I do not think that this also applies to Elite. Manuel told me about some troubles he got with the previous casting set, and maybe this is the reason for which the production of most of his busts was stopped. The metal casting by Elite are ones of the best you can see on the market, sometimes even better than the ones from Pegaso. This does not happen by magic, it has an high cost and I do not think that a manufacturer which is worried about that simply does not bother about his customers.

As you can imagine, I am unaware of what happened between you and Elite about that bust, but knowing Manuel I am inclined to think that there was some sort of misunderstood during the communication. Just for curiosity, where you purchased that copy ? Did you ask for a replacement to your seller/store ? If you think that something unfair happened, PM or email me and I will ask Manuel to send you a replacement, do not mind about that.

Doing a good casting is not so easy as it seems, but regarding the batchs I do/did, what you see is what you get. If something goes wrong I simply throw that copy, I am used to do so with my own kits and with the casting I do for other people. That could be really expensive in a short distance, but will pay you in the long run in terms of customer's appreciation.

Just as example, from a technical point of view, leaving the master divided into four parts (as it was) would have helped a lot during the casting process. I would have sprued it all and casted in a hurry, without caring about how many time one would need in cleaning and preparing the piece. But I do not like it that way and Manuel agreed about that.

The first set of the new resin casting is now ready to be delivered to the Boss... ;)

He will package all those little guys very soon...

great job in the restoration and the new casting!!!

It's still got those odd vein like hair things on his jaw though!!!! That was my only dislike on this piece.

Rob,
I'm totaly with you on that one! I think the hair turned out looking like viens just as you said. I think it's too nice a piece for me to pass one up this time though. I have my sights set on getting rid of the "hair" on mine though!
